My name is Sofia Beretta, I am a medical doctor currently enrolled in the Public Health residency program at the University of Aix-Marseille. I graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2022, defending a thesis on substance use among adolescents in Lombardy. Throughout my residency, I have worked with national and international institutions, including the French Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) in Laos and later in Cuba, where I contributed to the development of a locally produced Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food and a research project examining the impact of COVID-19 on primary care for oncological patients, respectively. My professional experience also includes roles as an epidemiologist at Santé Publique France and a traineeship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, in the Food Security Unit. My research focuses on addressing health inequalities, promoting health, and preventing disease, with a specific emphasis on nutrition and food security.
