Sofia Virginia Farante

I am Sofia, an Italian-Argentinian polyglot with a diverse international background, having lived, studied, or worked in over five countries. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Sorbonne University and a Master’s in International Relations, Diplomacy, and International Organizations from the University of Milan. Additionally, I specialized with a University Diploma in Gender, Climate Change, and Disasters (FLACSO), as well as a Certificate in Global Health and Health Diplomacy (FIOCRUZ). In 2021, I began my professional journey in health as an intern at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and continued as an Independent Consultant, working with the Subregional Program for South America based in Lima, Peru, and more recently with the Headquarters’ Country and Sub-Regional Coordination Unit until October 2024. Additionally, since 2021, I have been a Research Fellow for the Lancet Migration Latin American Hub, focusing on the intersection of migration and health with climate change and gender dynamics in Latin America and the Caribbean.
