The EU Global Health Strategy, Better Health for All in a Changing World, aims to take global health to a new level, while gaining global influence that matches the EU and the member states (MS) financing support. The strategy purposes to combine human and financial resources of the EU and its MS to progress on the shared path towards the achievement of the Strategic Development Goals (SDG). Also, the strategy aims to step up efforts to reduce health inequalities (equitable Universal Health Coverage, UHC), to build resilient health systems with innovative financing, and to fill gaps in multilateral governance and financing systems.
With this in mind, a consortium of 34 institutions representing 25 European countries (23 Member States plus Norway and Ukraine), with a wide range of profiles (ministries of health and foreign affairs, national public health institutes and universities), gathered to compile a European joint action (JA GHI), aimed at maximizing the impact of the EU Global Health Strategy.
