Andrea Cascella

Course: 2024-2025

My name is Andrea Cascella, I am 38 and I come from Latina. I studied Political Science in Rome and I got a master degree at ISPI in Milan in international cooperation. I currently serve as a Humanitarian Programme Officer at the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Libya, working also on the Sahrawi refugees (Algeria) dossier. Specifically, I manage the overall program cycle of several initiatives intervening in the health and protection sectors, aiming to strengthen local health response capacities to ensure access to basic needs to local communities. Among my tasks there is the launch of Calls for Proposals for INGOs projects, the follow up and the M&E of activities, the political dialogue with institutional stakeholders and the supervision of administrative aspects of the programs. Previously I worked in Palestine (2013-2020) both for INGOs and for AICS, implementing and managing projects and programs in West Bank and Gaza on health, education and WASH. At the beginning of my career, I had experiences in Latina America, precisely in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Bolivia. I have often worked on health-related development and humanitarian programs, but always with management and administrative tasks, since I do not have a specific medical background.
